We’ve lived there, walked its red earth, and forged lasting connections with the local miners who call it home. Even now, we return each year to reconnect—with the land, the people, and the opals that continue to inspire us. Lightning Ridge isn’t just a source; it’s part of who we are. And it’s why the majority of our opals come from here—because we know the best black opal in the world is born in this place.

We hit the road again and this time it’s straight to Opal Town!
Lightning Ridge is one of my favorite places to visit. The town holds many sentimental memories of my dad and the time we spent working together with Opal.
Australian Opal Fields
There are opal fields scattered across Australia, each known for producing remarkable gems. Lightning Ridge is world-renowned for its black opal and remains our primary source thanks to its exceptional quality. We also source from Coober Pedy, famous for its high volumes of stable white opal, and Andamooka, known for mining beautiful crystal opal. Queensland is home to boulder opal, with towns like Winton and Quilpie leading the way in these rich, ironstone-based deposits.
