From the outside, this blue Lightning Ridge nobby looked unassuming. Nothing about it screamed cut me until I shone the Gemfish through it...
What I discovered was a very dark body tone with no potch, and glimpses of blue and green color shifting through the gem, hinting at what could be a rare black crystal opal. I had a feeling it was going to be something great but it turned out to be better than I could have imagined. Even with 30 years of experience under my belt, opal will still find a way to surprise you.
