New to opal cutting? Start here! Our beginner’s rough opal parcels are for budding cutters looking to get a feel for opal and those who want to practice their skills.
Each parcel is hand-selected by Justin to make sure you get enough practice pieces and some color. You will get potch with no color to practice on, as well as a minimum of three pieces of color to have a go at cutting once you have the confidence. They won’t be top gems, but you will cut opals with color and gain the confidence to move on to higher quality rough.
Along with 100 to 200 carats of opal, you’ll get an educational video-series delivered to your inbox, where Justin will guide you through the cutting process step-by-step. You’ll learn how to set up your equipment, cutting and polishing, and how to get the most out of your opal. These videos are exclusive to our customers and are not available anywhere else.
